There were high hopes in Bosque County going into the final Friday of the 2013 Texas high school football regular season. But after the final guns sounded last Friday night, it did not prove to be a memorable evening for all but one of the area squads. In the county’s biggest game of the week, Walnut Springs convincingly knocked off cross county rival Kopperl, 78-34, in a winner-take-all District 11-6M, Division I showdown last Friday night. And in the process, the Hornets (7-3) secured their sixth straight trip to the post-season.
