T.E. “Red” Mitchell, age 84, of Patton passed away on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013 at Providence Hospital in Waco. Funeral services were held Monday at Patton Baptist Church with Rev. Pat Cummings officiating. Interment was at the Crawford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be in memory of Red to the charity of your choice. T.E. Mitchell was born Aug. 24, 1929 in Patton, Texas. He was the son of John and Cornelia (McRae) Mitchell. He was married to Betty Chamblee on Aug. 4, 1948 in Crawford. Mr. Mitchell was a member of the Patton Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Flora Bell Walsleben and Dorothy Dagley; three brothers Nathan Mitchell, Douglas Mitchell and Jake Mitchell. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Betty Mitchell of Patton; a sister, Mary Francis Deskins of Waco; one son, Rickey Mitchell, Sr. of Pearland; two grandsons, Rickey Mitchell, Jr. of Crawford and Alan Mitchell and wife Lindsay of Pearland; two great-grandsons, Jacob Mitchell and Camden Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Johnny DeChaume, Clinton DeChaume, Chris Deskins, Richard Withrow, Ricky Mitchell Jr., and Alan Mitchell. Honorary Pallbearers were Jacob Mitchell and Camden Mitchell.
