After opening the season with a victory last week, the Meridian baseball squad fell on hard times at the Blooming Grove tournament last week, dropping three straight. “Overall, we gained some great experience this weekend,” Meridian baseball head coach Robert Barber said. “We have a lot still to learn, and we still have to find consistency on the mound.” Likewise, the Meridian Lady Jackets continued to struggle in tournament play, losing their sixth straight game after a solid start to the season in the Bruceville-Eddy Tournament two weeks ago.
