Mary Conrad, 87, entered peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord on Saturday, April 5, 2014. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Zion United Church in Womack. Interment followed in Clifton Cemetery. Mary Bergman, lovingly known by all as “Mema,” was born Sept. 14, 1926, in Clifton to the late Milton and Claris Bergman. She graduated from Clifton High School and attended Clifton College. She was united in marriage to Victor Conrad on April 17, 1948. Mary and Victor were blessed with three children to enrich their lives. They lived and raised their family on their farm outside of Clifton. She loved her family passionately and was always interested in the many activities of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mary was an excellent cook, loved to do needlework, and handmade beautiful quilts. She was a member of Zion United Church where her faith was demonstrated in her giving and service to others. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clinton and David Bergman; one grandson, Brian Conrad, and one great-grandson. Survivors left to celebrate her life and cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 65 years, Victor Conrad; son, Mike Conrad and wife, Sharon of Cleburne; daughter, Vickie Martinez and husband, Kenny of Arlington; daughter Melissa Parks and husband, Gil of Stephenville; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one sister, Edna Shahan; one brother, Vern Bergman; numerous nieces and nephews, a caregiver and special friend, Debbie Ivey, and countless other family and friends who loved her dearly. Memorials may be made in Mary’s memory to Zion United Church or Lutheran Sunset Ministries. Arrangements by Clifton Funeral Home.
