Jerry M. Seay, age 79, of Morgan, passed away at his residence in Morgan on Sunday afternoon, August 17, 2014, with his family by his side. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel, in Meridian with Bro. Phil Murphy officiating. Interment was in the Morgan Cemetery, Morgan, Texas. Pallbearers were Ricky Seay, Josh Seay, Jeremy Seay, Kyle Williams, Kevin Williams, and Brett Jernigan. Honorary pallbearers were Travis Griffith and Mason Williams. Seay was born Aug. 20, 1934 in Friendship, OK, to Joe Lee Seay and Thelma Lee Barnes Seay. On July 11, 1954 he married Gloria Sellers in Morgan, where they made their home and raised their family. After serving in the United States Army from 1957 until 1963, Seay returned to the construction business and later went to work for Brown & Root. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Seay, of Morgan; children, Ricky Seay and wife, Mindia, of Morgan and Lisa Williams and Brett Jernigan of Clifton; grandchildren, Kyle Williams and wife, Cassie, of Clifton, Kevin Williams of Clifton, Joshua Seay and wife, Kallie, of Morgan, Ashley Williams of Clifton, and Jeremy Seay of Morgan; great-grandchildren, Mason Williams, Aden Williams, Alex Williams, and Colton Williams; brothers, Joe Van Seay and wife, Cheryl and Jimmy Carol Seay and wife, Staci. He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Seay, in 1987, and his father, Joe L. Seay, in 1994. Memories and words of comfort to Mr. Seay’s family may be sent to lawsonfuneralhome.net.
