Local preservationists aim to save historical bridge Meridian Tribune

The clock is ticking on a piece of local history. A group of local preservationists say time is running out to save a 133-yearold, wrought iron bridge from closure in Bosque County.

The Whipple Truss Bridge is the only one of its kind still in use in the State of Texas and one of fewer than 40 in service in the United States.
