Lynn Jean Foster

Lynn Jean Foster passed away on February 1, 2017 in the Goodall-Witcher Hospital in Clifton, Texas. He was born February 23, 1928 in San Benito, Texas to Nople C. Foster and Ressie Marie Wilkinson Foster.

Lynn’s family moved to San Antonio and lived there for several years, in 1943 they purchased property in Bosque County, just west of Meridian. Lynn had two more years of high school, graduating in 1945. He then entered John Tarlton College in Stephenville, Tx with the ROTC program he became interested in flying, that was his dream.

Lynn married Peggy Joyce “Buddy” Hall on June 30, 1950 They lived in San Antonio during that time ,they were members of a Christian Church and Lynn was a sponsor for the young Boys and Girls in the church, and enjoyed being involved with them. Later they moved out to the south of San Antonio, built a house, airstrip and office space for a new Aviation Insurance Business that he started. He later on went to Houston into a new business.

Lynn and Buddy decided to move to Clifton in 1973 to make their home. He was a commuter, he came home on week-ends and would buzz the house, Buddy knew he was in town, (as well as all the neighbors, and would go out to get him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Nople and Ressie Foster, his brother Yvonne and wife Anne Foster, nephew Jean Foster, the only Grandchild. His brother-in-law W.A. Hall and daughter, Stacy Lynn Hall Flecther, whom they loved like a daughter.

He is survived by his wife Peggy “Buddy” Foster of the Sunset Home In Clifton, sister-law Nell Godby and husband Jerry, nephews Will Godby, J.D. Godby and wife Kaye, Thom Godby and wife Debbie, great nieces Jacque and husband Joey Greenroad, Wesley and husband Scott Reece and great-grand nephew Steart Hall and his wife Betty.

It was a request of Lynn to be cremated and not to have a funeral service.
