Annual rodeo delivers Americana fun

By Simone Wichers-Voss
Only few real cowboys in real life break a colt or would dream of riding a mad bull. But at the rodeo the adrenaline junkies are all about the daring bull-riding, the skillful roping, the exhilarating  barrel racing, the hilarious steer saddling and the fun mutton busting, even if it was on a small scale. The Clifton Rodeo Friday and  Saturday night brought all those elements and more together for a great time with the crowd filling  the bleachers at the arena.

By Carol Spicer
In an effort to keep all the young athletes in Bosque County Schools safe, each year Clifton Medical Clinic offers free University Interscholastic League physicals to student athletes.  The first of the two evening sessions took place on Thursday evening with approximately 40 students showing up for the physicals.  Three doctors, Dr. Skylar Bizzell, Dr. Justin Squyres, and Dr. Martha O’Reilly; along with Nurse Practitioner Mary Werlinger, five Registered Nurses, three nurse assistants, and three office staff all volunteered their time to help make sure that all  the students are healthy.

One Last Chance On The Gridiron

By Zach Nichols

Calendar pages are torn to reveal the month of June, and school bells sing their shrill song one last time. Students turn in final exams, clean lockers, and bid a hesitant farewell to classmates. However, prior to swimsuits and tank tops, some students must don gowns and graduation caps. A few put on football helmets and head to practice. The Super Centex Victory Bowl, a classic battle of Red versus Blue, took place last Saturday at Waco ISD Stadium. Hosted by the Heart of Texas Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the game featured recently-graduated seniors from all around central Texas.
