Dorothy Bernice Krueger Mansur passed away peacefully in a Clifton nursing facility on Tuesday evening, March 12, 2013, at the age of 91. Funeral services were held Friday, March 15, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clifton with Pastor Brian McQuiggin officiating. Dorothy was a retired telephone company employee in Waco and Clifton and a devoted housewife and volunteer. She was born April 5, 1921, in Bosque County to Will Sr. and Hilda Rachuig Krueger, and was baptized into the Christian faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was confirmed in 1934 at Immanuel by Pastor G.A. Obenhaus. On April 17, 1949, she married Hans Mansur in services conducted by Hans’ father at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church east of Clifton. They were faithful and untiring members of Immanuel until failing health caused them to move from their home on Hillcrest Avenue to the Goodall-Witcher Nursing Facility in 2005. Dorothy will be remembered for her exuberance and love of life. Constantly “on the go,” she was regarded affectionately as having just “one speed – full out” until the final weeks of her life. Hans preceded her in death in May 2012. Also preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Will Krueger Jr.; and nephews Mike and Max Hoff. She is survived by a niece, Julie Krueger of Clifton; sister-in-law Mary Krueger of Clifton; brother-in-law, Herbert Mansur and wife, Laurine of Onalaska; sister-in-law Esther Burnaman of Houston; and many other relatives, church family, and friends. Pallbearers were Jim Canuteson, Clarance Fields Jr., Gary Fossett, Lloyd Hampe, Richard Spitzer, and Raymond Zuehlke. Those wishing to may remember Dorothy with memorials to Immanuel Church or Goodall-Witcher Nursing Facility. Clifton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
