Jackets surprise Frost, 21-14, to clinch second

FROST - Even though they already had a Class 1A, Division II state playoff berth secured for the second time in the last three seasons, the Meridian Yellowjackets showed the Frost Polar Bears they were far from done yet. Shocking last season’s Cinderella team, the Yellowjackets rallied in the fourth quarter to slip by Frost, 21-14, last Friday night and clinch at least second place in District 9-1A, Division II, pending this week’s league championship showdown against state-ranked and defending district champion Hubbard at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Jacket Stadium.
