The 64th annual Smorgasbord was held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at Norse on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, with two seating each evening. While waiting to be seated visitors gather in the sanctuary and listen to Pasty Squyres on the organ offering both traditional Norwegian music, as well as Christmas carols. The first Smorgasbord at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church began in 1949 when the congregation became tired of having to go to the creek for water. The women of the church decided to hold a Smogasbord to raise the funds to install running water into the church hall, piped down from the old parsonage.
