Joshua Nathan Flanagan, 27 of Clifton, passed away Sunday morning, Nov. 24, 2013 at his home in Clifton. A memorial service was held Friday, at 2 p.m., at the CLIFTEX Theatre in Clifton. Joshua was born Tuesday, July 15, 1986. He attended Clifton ISD from Pre-K to sixth grade, then Danville ISD in Indiana from seventh through 10th grade due to a family move from 1998-2003. When asked by his parents which school in Texas he would like to attend, without hesitation he said Clifton. He graduated from Clifton High School in 2004. He attended MCC then transferred to the LeCordon Blue College of Culinary Arts and graduated with a baking and patisserie diploma in January 2008. Joshua met his life partner, Bill Neely, on Nov. 25, 2009 in Dallas. Together they have lived in various places including: Dallas, Los Angeles, Billingham, WA, and Pompano Beach FL. Their travels included the East and West coasts. He loved music, movies, his dogs Sam, Layla and Cooper, and family and friends. He is best known for his smile, laughter and sarcasm. His favorite foods included Mr. Gattis Pizza, Great American Cookie Coompany’s Double Doozies, Sour Patch Watermelon, RedVines, and his mother’s caramel popcorn. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Delores Mefford Martin; and his life partner’s mother, Alice Foster Neely. Suvivors include Bill Neely; parents, David and Talana Flanagan; brother James and wife, Jenny and son Clayton; sister Jennifer and husband, Robert Morrow; sister, Jamie; grandparents, Cleon and Carolyn Flanagan, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The family said, we are eternally grateful to God for Joshua’s life and for the memories of him we hold in our hearts.
