Funeral services for Estelle Loraine Aars Cosper, 90, were held Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at First United Methodist Church in Clifton with the Rev. Reed Justus and Rev. Cleon Flanagan officiating. Interment was at Spring Creek Cemetery. Estelle Aars was born on Oct. 25, 1923 in Bosque County to Leonard Aars and Olga Mickelson Aars. She passed away on Jan. 29, 2014 in Clifton. She was baptized in infancy at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at Norse, and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Cranfills Gap. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Clifton for as long as her health permitted. As a youngster, she attended the rural Harmony School and then graduated from Cranfills Gap High School. She played basketball and tennis in school. On Jan. 23, 1945, she married Otis Samuel “Toad” Cosper. The couple had four children, Larry Tom, Kay Diane, Ronnie Charles, and Vicki Lynn. She was devoted to her family and always helped neighbors and friends. She was a kind, gentle and soft-spoken woman. She enjoyed her children’s school activities; family gatherings, celebrations, and birthdays; playing dominoes; and watching sports on TV. She did handiwork and sewed clothes, quilted, and crocheted. She enjoyed gardening and was an excellent cook. She worked at Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home. She also checked on her cattle for as long as health permitted. She fought a courageous battle with cancer and will be dearly missed by all who love her. She was preceded in death by her husband, “Toad” Cosper on April 9, 1988; her parents; her brother, Homer Aars; her daughter, Kay Cosper Davis; and a great-grandson, Micah Love. Survivors include sons, Tom and wife, Brenda Cosper of Meridian, Ronnie and wife, Carolyn Cosper of Clifton, daughter, Vicki and husband, Leon Angermann of Clifton; eight grandchildren, Tiffeny, Apryl, Caleb, Andrew, Corie, Colby, Robin and Samuel; and 10 great-grandchildren, Emily, Reuben, Katie, Grace, Una, Tess, Zach, Seth, Karsyn and Charley; and sister-in-law May Cosper, and extended family and friends. Clifton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
