Cubs clinch district title

During each of the last four seasons, the Clifton Cubs have consistently and steadily raised the bar each year on their way to restoring the rich football tradition in Clifton. For the Cub football program, the 2017 season will represent another step in that direction. But then again, there’s still plenty of football to play. In dominant fashion, the Clifton Cubs rolled to an impressive 68-13 victory over playoff-bound Rio Vista to clinch their second consecutive District 11- 3A, Division II championship.

Senior running back Marc Gutierrez rushed for 170 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Cubs before handing the rushing duties to sophomore Mason Ochoa, who rushed for 167 yards and a score.
