Docents on the move

History lives on in many ways. Bosque Museum Docents visited Iris Hodges’ Teacup Cottage in Cranfills Gap to view her extensive Teapot Collection last fall. The group was then treated to a presentation and viewing of the photographs and history of homesteads in Bosque County at the First State Security Bank, including the mapped sites.

Several of the museum docents trace their heritage to the first settlers of Bosque County.

Ave Bonar, photographer from Austin, and FSSB Tom Henderson’s half sister was commissioned by Rodney Joy in 2001 to take the photographs. Museum docent Bryan Davis accompanied Ave to many of the sites and held her ladder steady in the back of her pick up truck in the early morning light.
