Rotary highlights children’s book origin

In the spirit of life-long learning, Sarita Ellis shared fascinating stories about the people behind two historical events during the Bosque County (Clifton) Rotary Club’s meeting at the Clifton Civic Center on Thursday, January 4.

The Rotarian’s presentation was the first of the new year for the Rotary group, entering its 43rd year in service to Central Texas.

Ellis explained that a television program inspired her to learn more about the couple that created the popular children’s book character Curious George, and about the man who claimed to have killed the man who assassinated President Abraham Lincoln.
