Kenneth Ray Key

Visitation for Kenneth Ray Key, 82, of Clifton will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Moody Leon Methodist Church followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am with Pastor Dennis Rejcek officiating. A Private burial will follow at the Buckhorn Cemetery. Kenneth R. Key died on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Providence hospital in Waco. Kenneth Ray Key was born on March 29, 1935 to Jim Ed Thomas Key and Lona Mae Holder Key in the Buckhorn Community near Moody, Texas. Kenneth attended the Buckhorn grammar school , The Grove Middle School and graduated from Moody High School in 1953. On June 7, 1958 he married Carrie Lee Gilliam and together started their family. Kenneth was a manager of a grocery store in the White Hall Community and later partnered with his brother John to have Key’s Garage in Oglesby, Texas. He was an excellent machinist and could fix just about anything.

Jason Alton Carlson

Jason Alton Carlson, 45, passed away as the result of a massive heart attack at his home outside of Clifton on May 31, 2017. The family will hold a private memorial and celebration of Jason’s life on the family farm at a later date. Jason was born in Pampa, Texas on August 19, 1971. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1990 and went on to graduate from Texas State Technical Institute in Amarillo where he became certified in welding and fabrication. He moved to the family farm in Bosque County June 1994. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Jason had a delightful sense of humor and loved telling stories to his three year old niece. He was currently working on a novel and had a vivid imagination. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Whitney, where he was saved and baptized May 29, 2005. Family left with precious memories are his father and mother, Julian P. Carlson Jr. and Carolyn R. Carlson; sister, Crystal G. Chambliss and husband, C.

Nellie Belle Dickerson

On Friday December 16th at 1:16 pm Nellie Belle (New) Dickerson passed away. She was born Feb. 2,1922 in the Clifton area. Nellie (GanGan) moved to Tacoma WA in 2002 after her husband passed away. She was one of nine children. She has one surviving sister. Etta Faye Rosco of Burlson,Texas. She has two sons Chester Dickerson of Auburn, WA and Ronnie Dickerson of Buckly, Wa. Nellie lived the past 10 years with her Ex-daughter-inlaw Pam Greenleaf of Tacoma,Wa. She has three Grand kids and four great grand kids. Friends and family are welcome to come celebrate her life at Clifton Cemetery, 2 p.m. on June 17.

Phyllis Fay Alford Olson

Phyllis Fay Alford Olson, age 79 of Fort Worth, Texas, went to be with her Lord Thursday morning, May 25, 2017. Services were held on June 3 at the Old Rock Church in Cransfills Gap, Texas Phyllis was born on October 31, 1937, in Huntsville, Texas to Ethel Fay Hawkins Templeton and Claude Andrew Templeton. Phyllis graduated from North Side High School and attended East Texas State College in Commerce (later Texas A&M at Commerce) for three years on a percussion scholarship. Phyllis returned to Fort Worth where she completed her undergraduate work at Texas Wesleyan College. Phyllis married Roland Wayne Olson June 10, 1961 at Rosen Heights Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Roland and Phyllis had three children: John Walter, Thomas Wade and Karen Elaine. Thomas died when he was three days old. She earned her master’s degree at Texas Christian University.

Robert Euston Shulenberger

Robert Euston Shulenberger, 97, of Cleburne passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Weatherford Healthcare Center. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2017 at the High Point Church Of God in Cleburne with Reverend Chris Jones officiating. Robert was born May 10, 1920 in Allentown, PA to D. Emmett and S. Ruth (Clippinger) Shulenberger. He grew up in Allentown and later made his way to Florida. In the early 1980’s, he moved to Clifton, TX. Robert drove a truck for many years and also worked as a security guard. He had many talents and loved being a magician and chalk artist. Some of his hobbies included leather work and wood work. For 60 years, he was involved in the gospel ministry where he pastored at two churches during that time. He was a member of the High Point Church of God. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include his wife, Marie Shulenberger; children, Nancy Lee Groves, Cheryl Rene Heberlig, David T. Petty and wife, Ruby, Robert A.

Nellie Belle Dickerson

Joyce Carlstad Gustafson

Joyce Carlstad Gustafson, 77, passed away Saturday May 6, 2017, into the loving arms of Jesus her savior. She was surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born April 1, 1940 in Ambrose, North Dakota to Otto and Edna Carlstad. She graduated from Crosby High School in Crosby North Dakota. On June 29, 1958, she married Claude (Gus) Gustafson. They lived their early years of their marriage in Claude’s hometown of Clifton Texas. In 1964 they moved to Ronan Montana to help out on Joyce’s aunt and uncle’s dairy farm. In 1970 they moved to Kalispell Montana where they raised their family. She loved doing crafts, country gospel music, traveling and wearing lots of bling. Joyce was known throughout the Flathead Valley for her lefsa and Norwegian baking. Thankfully she passed on her lefsa making skills to her granddaughter. She worked at many different places and. made friends wherever she went. Joyce valued her friendships but her family was everything to her.

John Harold Poston

John Harold (Jack) Poston, age 82, of Gatesville peacefully completed his earthly journey on Sunday, May 21, 2017 with his devoted family by his side. A Tribute Remembrance Service will be held at 11:00 AM,Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Gatesville City Cemetery. The family will host a reception following the graveside service in the parlor of the First Baptist Church of Gatesville. John Harold was born on November 4, 1934 in Dallas, Texas to Hardy Emerson and Maude Kathryn Hill Poston as a treasured late life baby. His mother called him Jack from the beginning, and so he remained throughout his life. Jack graduated in 1953 from Gatesville High School where he enjoyed playing football, tennis and courting his future bride. On June 25, 1955, he married the love of his life, Wanda Joann Jones at the First Baptist Church of Gatesville.

Foster Hinds

Foster Hinds, age 86, of Meridian, passed away Friday evening, May 5, 2017, at the home of a son, Clifton Hinds, near Whitney, Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 9, 2017, in the Morgan Cemetery. Brandon Carter and Bryce Donaldson officiated. A visitation was held at the Lawson Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 8, 2016. Foster was born Oct. 22, 1930, in Williamson County, Texas. He was a son of Burnice H. Hinds and Vergie Verda Talley Hinds. On Jan. 28, 1953, he was united in marriage to Earline Petty in Marble Falls, Texas. The couple lived in Brady for some 20 years before moving to Meridian in 1971. Foster was a retired truck driver and a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Meridian.
