The Meridian Ministerial Alliance is a group of cooperating local churches that works to meet the needs of children, minister to the community, and care for families. One of the best ways the Ministerial Alliance fulfills those purposes is through the Backpack Ministry Feeding Program which began in 2017.

Sunflower Bank is partnering with the Meridian Independent School District to celebrate Teach Children to Save Day with savings education on Thursday, April 27. Fourth grade students will explore the difference between needs and wants and the importance of saving.

Early voting in the May elections for city, school, and hospital district boards continues today and runs to Tuesday, May 2. Times are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. The only evening time is on Thursday, April 27, from 8 a.m. -7 p.m.

The Bosque Democratic Club will host a forum for candidates running for public office in Bosque County on Thursday, April 20, at the Clifton Civic Center. All members of the public are welcome and are invited to attend.

A group of disabled combat veterans from 2nd Battalion 4th Marines will gather over Memorial Day weekend in Bosque County. The annual reunion will be a time of healing among the participants that includes the honoring of their fellow Marines who perished during and after their deployment in Iraq.
