This spring, the Bosque Democratic Club joined the Texas Department of Transportation’s Adopt-AHighway program. About eight club members volunteered in their first trash pick-up on Saturday, April 1, at the start of the annual Don’t mess with Texas Trash-Off.

Hoel family celebrates 152 years in America

In early 1871, Oline and Christopher Mikaelson Hoel with their daughters Amalie (3) and Marie (1) immigrated from their generational home in Loeten, Norway, to begin a new life in the burgeoning Norwegian settlement of Norse west of Clifton.

Bosque-area caregiver support group forming

A new caregiver support group is forming in Bosque County for families of people dealing with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Participants can confidentially meet to share their concerns, support each other, and learn ways to cope with challenges associated with long-term caregiving.
