Bosque County Sheriff Trace Hendricks offered a few tips on protecting your mail and packages from thieves this holiday season. The sheriff recommended that folks avoid theft of packages by: -Having packages delivered to your workplace.

The United States Postal Service announced that all its post offices will be closed for the observation of federal holidays on Monday, December 26, 2022, and Monday, January 2, 2023. The federal holidays fall on these days because this year Christmas and New Year’s Day fall on Sunday, when Post Office locations nationwide are already closed.

A local group launched its first Christmas market for young small businesses owners on Saturday, December 3, in Meridian. The cold, breezy weather failed to dampen the enthusiasm of both young entrepreneurs and customers during the Bosque Children’s Business Fair and Christmas Market at Chisholm Trail Plaza in Meridian Park.

Tuesdays weekly 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. – The Golden Gathers meet for food, fun and fellowship at the Memorial Library located at 201 N Main Street in Meridian. All baby boomers, veterans and seniors are welcome to play games, socialize and enjoy a potluck meal. Attendees are encouraged to bring a side dish or dessert, or they can bring their own meal if they would rather.
