Farm, ranch seminar Dec. 8

A multi-county Farm and Ranch Seminar for farmers and ranchers conducted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in District 8 is scheduled for December 8, 2022. The District 8 Farm and Ranch Seminar will be offered at 14 locations across Central Texas.

Commissioners renew evacuation agreement with Comanche Peak

Commissioners renewed an agreement with Comanche Peak Nuclear Plant in Glen Rose that designated Meridian as an evacuation site in the event of a disaster. “If Comanche Peak has an accidental release or something like that and they have to evacuate people within a tenmile radius, Granbury is a reception center for people to go north and Meridian is a reception center at the high school for people ordered to go south,” Bosque County EMC Kirk Turner said.

Bridge construction begins on SH 174

Body
Construction began Tuesday on a new SH 174 bridge near Kimball Bend Park. The new bridge and approaches will enhance safety for bridge traffic, including wider shoulders after construction, according to TxDOT.

Bosque Museum to wrap up exhibit with wedding party

Bosque Museum will present a closing reception for its popular temporary exhibit Say Yes to the Dress: A Community Exhibit, taking place on Saturday, October 29 at 2 pm. The event will feature traditional wedding style snacks including wedding cake and Jordan almonds, and will culminate in the announcement of the most popular dress in the exhibit.

DAR Day of Service honors law enforcement

Body
Consistently supportive of local law enforcement, the Bosque River Valley, NSDAR, enthusiastically chose as their 2022 Day of Service project to purchase and deliver bottles of water and Gatorade to all local law enforcement in Bosque County. The bottled drinks were delivered to all eight law enforcement offices in the county.
