It was a frisky evening Saturday at the second annual Fabulous Fandango supporting local dog and cat rescue Bosque Spay/Neuter. Held in the Western Town Saloon at Texas Safari Ranch in Clifton, patrons gathered with a common purpose to lend a hand to the rescue.

Relatives of former Clifton resident Wanda Jay Campbell were proud to announce the release of Campbell’s new book, Mystery in the Oil Patch. Full of humor, suspense and unexpected twists and turns, the novel follows four friends who must work together to solve a mystery in the 1930s West Texas oilfields.

Bosque Museum’s second Lomax Gathering at amphitheater a hit

An Evening of Lomax celebrating the musical collections of local folklore legend John A Lomax echoed through the parks in Meridian Saturday at Bosque Museum’s fundraiser in the amphitheater bearing his name. The second year An Evening of Lomax was held at the John A Lomax Amphitheater, the evening was full of songs and stories from Lomax’s lifelong work to catalogue the American southwest.

Local Study Guild donates to Bosque’s libraries

Members of the Clifton Study Guild donated a copy of Davy Crockett: Young Rifleman to all four public libraries in Bosque County. The book was donated in memory of guildmember Carolyn Cotton, a direct descendant of Davy Crockett, defender of the Alamo.
