'COVID can't keep us apart'
Coronavirus has put many nursing homes residents into self quarantine with many facilities no longer allowing visitors.
But staff of Lutheran Sunset Ministries know how important visitors are for keeping up morale.
So in efforts to combat the isolation, the residents held a community parade with new theme “COVID can’t keep us apart” Wednesday morning.
Sunset’s staff and residents lined the driveway, six-feet apart and many of them in their wheelchairs, as their family, friends and loved ones drove by through the parking lot and waived greetings of support from their cars.
More than three dozen cars, under police escort, drove through the neighborhood and through the drive.
Residents and friends in the parade were holding signs in support of the residents and asking to “Keep faith.”
