The Clifton City Council accepted the resignation of Clifton’s mayor during its regular meeting on Tuesday, February 14.
Mayor Richard Spitzer tendered a letter of resignation the previous week, ending his term weeks before the May 6 election for the City of Clifton.
Mayor Pro Tem Mike Schmidt is filling the mayor’s vacancy in the interim, as recommended by the city attorney.
