Early voting underway as May 7 election nears

Early voting began Monday for the Saturday, May 7 Uniform Election. On the ballots will be city and school district elections, as well as Texas Constitutional Amendments. The last day of early voting is Tuesday, May 3.

Bosque County arrests and inmate transfers

-Lenquaiz Diamond Hughes, of Copperas Cove, was arrested in Coryell County on April 8, 2022, for burglary of a habitation and theft of property $100 or more but less than $750. -Andy Wayne Mitchell, of Morgan, was arrested by BCSO Shaw on April 8, 2022, for burglary of a habitation with intent to commit other felony.

AgriLife says look out for stinging caterpillars

As the weather warms up and people begin spending more time in their yards, parks and forests, more people will have the opportunity to encounter insects, some of which can bite or sting. However, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service experts say before you blame a flying insect or a poisonous plant for a skin ailment, you may need to consider another culprit – “stinging” caterpillars.

VFD emergency fund needs donations

Because of recent fires in Bosque County and the surrounding area, and with the potential for more widespread fires in the coming months, a fund has been set up benefitting all Bosque County volunteer fire departments.
