Bosque County COVID-19 update

As of 2:15 p.m. Monday, the Texas DSHS reported 1,774 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bosque County, with 579 probable cases. 139 cases were active while 2,163 had recovered. There have been 51 COVID-19 related deaths in Bosque County, up three from last week, since the start of the pandemic.

County to purchase DA building

During open comments at Monday’s commissioners court meeting, it was announced the county will have another vaccine clinic on October 13, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Auditor’s office. Depending on how many sign up, the clinic may move to the sheriff’s office at 11:15 a.m.

Meridian celebrates 2021 Homecoming with a parade and community pep rally where the homecoming court was introduced. Meridian Yellowjackets will face off against Texas Wind Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Jacket Stadium in Meridian.

An evening of Lomax

The Bosque Museum’s John A. Lomax Gathering was an evening full of stories and songs honoring the history of Meridian’s folklorist and musicologist, John A. Lomax, who spent his life chronicling folk songs, cowboy ballads and work songs and spirituals across the country.

Bosque County says thank you to first responders
