Staff Reports Covid-19 continues to create havoc even in Bosque County. Now, due to government guidelines and restrictions, Meridian may miss out on its biggest event of the year as the National Championship Barbecue Cook-off (NCBC) may not be held on the last Thursday in October.

Meridian staff gets COVID-19

Bosque County reported 34 new coronavirus cases in the past week, the single highest week to date. COVID-19 cases have been reported at Goodall-Witcher Hospital, county courthouse and more recently in a nursing home and school.

School deals with bussing in pandemic

Meridian ISD plans to have regular bus routes for the school year. If a child will be riding the bus or other school transportation, parents and students will need to be aware of new procedures.

Bosque Commissioners play fix it

Bosque County Commissioner approved emergency budget transfers, investment policy and the air-conditioning to be fixed at the courthouse at Monday’s meeting. Commissioners made a $20,000 emergency budget amendment submitted made by Ronnie Laramen for road repairs and maintenance.
