Public health awareness event set June 15

The Heart of Texas Regional Advisory Council (HOTRAC) will host the “Heart of Texas Public Awareness Night – Saving Bodies, Minds and Hearts” event on Thursday, June 15, in Waco. The free event will give Heart of Texas communities the opportunity to “get to know” their first responders and emergency healthcare people.

City of Clifton moves FallFest date back to third Saturday

The City of Clifton moved the date of its annual FallFest event back to the third Saturday in October 2023. The city hall had previously announced the date would change to the second Saturday, but due to feedback from community members and businesses, the city returned the event to its original date.

Steele Creek Acres VFD bolsters safety with new equipment: Forest Service

The Steele Creek Acres Volunteer Fire Department in Bosque County received a $16,371 grant through the Texas A&M Forest Service Rural Volunteer Fire Department Assistance Program. The grant was used to purchase fire and rescue equipment, including a thermal imaging camera, radios, a generator and a defibrillator.

The Bosque Civic Music Association will host the McLennan Community Orchestra during a special concert Saturday, June 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Frazier Performance Hall at the Bosque Arts Center in Clifton.

While the number of young exhibitors has yet to fully rebound from pre-pandemic levels, the energy and excitement among the attendees was way up at the 2023 edition of the annual livestock and home economics show for youth.

Medical student makes rounds at Goodall-Witcher

Thanks to a new partnership between Goodall-Witcher Healthcare and the Texas A&M College of Medicine, medical students will be given an opportunity to explore the possibility of practicing medicine in Bosque County.
