Clifton Independent School District held its annual awards and retirement ceremony to recognize and celebrate its staff members for their commitment and dedication on Thursday, May 25. Clifton ISD recognized Sheri Dyson for her nine years of service to Clifton Elementary School and the celebration of her retirement after 32 years in public education.

The week-long Central Texas Youth Fair is in progress at the Central Texas Youth Fair Grounds in Clifton. The fair featuring livestock and home economics competitions runs this week through Saturday, June 10.

Clifton school board seats new trustees, elects officers

The Clifton Independent School District’s Board of Education honored a former trustee and seated three new trustees during its regular meeting on Monday, May 15. The board approved a resolution of the canvassing the returns and declaring the results of the 2023 school board election.

First down payment made for Bosque County Veterans Memorial

The Bosque County Veterans Memorial in Meridian has taken its next step at being created. Andrea Wallum, the project coordinator, reported on social media that the memorial committee recently made the first down payment of $10,000 to RMB Monuments.

Antique tractor pull on tap June 3 in Clifton City Park

Bosque Valley Antique Tractor Club The Bosque Valley Antique Tractor Club will host an antique tractor pull in Clifton City Park on Saturday, June 3, starting at 10 a.m. Folks with not only antique tractors but farm stock, hot rods, and pick-up trucks are invited to test their machines’ power during the day-long event.

Members of the Meridian community showed up to a loosely organized event celebrating our freedoms at the city’s notable public places on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29. In the afternoon, attendees enjoyed free food, live music, and social fellowship at Chisholm Trail Plaza.
