Jessie Evelyn Creech Brockman, age 93, of Meridian and a former long time resident of Ft.Worth, died Wednesday evening, Feb. 27, 2013, in a Meridian care facility. Cremation services were provided by Lawson Funeral Home. There will be no funeral service. Jessie Evelyn Creech, was born April 6, 1919, in Greene County, NC where she was raised. She was a daughter of the late Sidney J. and Annie Grantham Creech. During WW II, Jessie enlisted in the U. S. Army WAC in 1942 and left the service in 1945 as a Staff Sergeant .She was very proud of her service to her country. After her tour of duty, she moved to Ft. Worth where she attended and graduated from Texas Christian University. On May 29, 1947, she was united in marriage to Charles T. Brockman in Ft. Worth and he preceded her in death in 2008. She was also preceded in death by a son, Charles T. Brockman, III. She was a teacher, author and artist in the Ft. Worth public schools for many years and was the owner of art galleries in Ft. Worth and Lajitas, Texas. She was also preceded in death by a son, Charles T. Brockman,III. She is survived by a daughter, Sidney Carlisle and her husband, Wesley Beeman of Meridian; a son, James M. Brockman, of Ft. Worth; grandson, David Deaton and his wife, Jennifer of The Woodlands, and great-granddaughter, Emily Nicole Deaton, and several other relatives and friends.
