John Castillo Lira, Sr., 76, of Morgan passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 in Fort Worth. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Lawson Funeral Home. Funeral services were officiated by Rev. Richard Creech. Burial followed at Morgan Cemetery. Visitation was from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Lawson Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Herlinda Estreda Lira; son, Phillip Lira; brothers, Jose Lira, Tomas Estrada, Basillio Estrada, Fidencio Estrada and Richard Lira.
He is survived by his wife, Nelda Daughtry; children, John Lira, Jr., Mary Lamanack, Stella Abbott, Steve Lira, Albert Lira, Jessie Torres, Cecelia Torres, Antonio Lira and Cynthia Lira; siblings, Felix Lira, Martin Lira, Raynaldo Lira, Lupe Lira, Magie Alvarado, Petra Olivarri and Domingo Estrada; and his children's mother Marie Lira.
Pallbearers were Phillip Lira, Jonathan Lira, Jesus Alejandro Lira, Michael Longoria, Jessie Lira and Lance Lira. Alternate pallbearers were Antonio Lira, Nathan Lira and Markus Lira.
