Rita Ash, 72, of Clifton passed away Friday, June 5, 2020 at St. Catherine’s Hospice Place in Waco. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, June 21, 2020, at the Grand Old Gospel Lighthouse Church, Clifton.

Rita Kay Ash was born on September 24, 1947 in Cranfills Gap, Texas to Morris and Lucy Huse. She was welcomed by 4 sisters and 1 brother.

Rita was born and raised in Cranfills Gap where she also attended school. When she was 15 she married Donnie Ratliff and together they had 2 children, Brian and Pam. Her children were her world and she made sure they were always taken care of first. She worked several different jobs until she was approached about a secretarial job at Farmers Propane in Cranfills Gap in 1983. She took the job and when they sold to StarTex she continued to work for them until this year when she became ill. She had 7 grandchildren and 6 greatgrandchildren whom she loved dearly. The memories she made with all of her family will last a lifetime, family was always first in her eyes.

Preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Lucy Huse; brother, Dennis Huse; son, Brian Ratliff; brothers-in-law, Bill Maxwell, Raymond Shelton, Steve Zobal, and Butch Thompson.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Pam Nelson and husband, Scott; sisters, Maxine Maxwell, Jean Shelton, Margie Zobal, and Shirley Thompson; grandchildren, Donny and Krystal, Jessica and Joey, Brandon and Brittany, Steven, and Trinity; great-grandchildren, Brian, Brayden, Audee, Braylon, Brynlee, Jack, Kylie and Knox; and one on the way Kynlee; Jeanne and Craig Wallace and Donnie Ratliff; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
