Roy L.“Pat” Moffatt
Roy L. “Pat” Moffatt, of Saginaw, TX passed Sept. 11, 2018. He will always be remembered as loving father, husband, friend, mentor and colleague.
Born Aug. 15, 1929, Texas City, TX to Roy and Daisy Moffatt, Pat was raised in Clifton attended High School Clifton, TX in 1947. He entered the United States Air Force on Feb. 1947 and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in Feb. 1950.
He was self-employed, running a gas station in Haltom City, TX. He was also a patrolman in Haltom City in 1953 and became the Chief of Police in 1957. He was the City Manager of Haltom City from 1963 until he retired in 1984. He went on to be the City Manager City of Saginaw.
Pat was a member of the Moslah Temple, Kiwanis Club N.E. Fort Worth, and had the title Master Mason Good Standing in Haltom City-Riverside lodge No. 1331 for 50 plus years. He attended the Asbury Methodist Church in Haltom City. Above all, Pat loved and cherished his family, extended family and the lake.
Pat is survived by his wife Polly Moffatt; daughters Mary Moffatt Watson and P.J. “Trish” Moffatt Gritta Fritsche, CPA; grandchildren Nikia Watson and Amelia Gritta; great-grandchildren Kai Watson and Harley Watson and his faithful pet Hoss.
A graveside service was held Sept. 17 at the Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation was Sept. 16 at the Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home.
