Todd Hodges, age 54, of Valley Mills, Texas, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at his residence. Funeral service will be held 11 AM Monday, August 26, at the Valley Mills First Baptist church under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Rev. Pat Cummings officiating.
Todd Hodges was born on April 24, 1965, in Belton, Texas, to Rondal (Ron) and Margie Hodges. He was the baby of four and the only son. He attended Valley Mills High School until he decided it wasn’t exactly his speed then he took his studies to trade school where he became a master welder. His passion for welding is what kept him working for Lhoist and Lane Welding for 30 plus years. Todd truly loved his job and the many people he worked with became his extended family. He spoke of them often and would stop at nothing if one was in need.
Growing up, Todd loved the outdoors as most young boys do. He quickly took to many hobbies that would keep him outside from sun up until sun down. Fishing was a favorite pastime along with motor cross and drag racing, hunting, and even his welding career kept him outdoors most of the time. His hunting excursions took him as far north as Alaska with a group of his closest friends where he brought home a trophy bear that stands proudly in our living room today.
He married young to his sweetheart Dana Krumnow of Robinson, Tx, who was a frequent cheerleader at the race track where he raced his cars. They shared 26 years together and were blessed with three amazing beautiful boys: Jason, Matthew and Blake. Jason now runs his own pre-fab shop and hot shot delivery system for wedding supply and is married with two beautiful Hodges boys of his own Easton Tate and Titus McCoy. These grand babies brought Todd countless smiles and hours of joy. Matthew is busy working and going to school. Blake has just graduated from Valley Mills High School and has made a proud decision to join the Marine Corp and will begin that role on the 24th of Next month.
Todd married his second wife, Amber, in April of this year. They had a beautiful private ceremony over the Bosque River with JP Zander officiating and telling jokes of the adventures they would have together. With this marriage he gained three step sons who now proudly call him Dad: Pierce 13, Preston 11 and Philip 7. Their favorite thing to do with Todd was to go fishing or tinker in his work shop with him.
Survivors include his mother: Margie Hodges of Clifton; his wife: Amber Hodges, 3 sons: Jason Hodges, Matt Hodges, and Blake Hodges all of Valley Mills, 3 step-sons: Pierce, Preston and Philip; 2 Grandbabies: Easton Tate and Titus Mccoy; sisters: Lisa Riggs & husband Russell and their family, Rhonda Armstrong and her husband Tad, Tammy Smith and husband David and their family.
