With all 11 players on the roster scoring points, the Lady Cubs crushed the Waco Harmony School of Innovation, 69-1, on the road last Friday night to wrap up their District 17-3A schedule.

Riding an eight-game winning streak as the only undefeated team in District 201A, the Jackets (9-0 in district, 18-7 overall) hope to repeat the results from the first round of district play when they visit the Iredell Dragons (3-7, 7-16) Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.

After battling to a hard-fought 48-38 win over the Walnut Springs Lady Hornets last Tuesday, the Lady Jackets crushed the Covington Lady Owls, 43-13, on the road last Friday to maintain sole possession of second place.

Making the turn into the second round of District 20-1A competition, the Meridian Yellowjacket boys basketball team took two more steps toward a district championship by extending its winning streak to seven straight games. The Jackets ran past Walnut Springs, 5529, at home last Tuesday before posting a convincing victory over second place Covington to strengthen their hold of first place.
