The Federal Communications Commission recently raised minimum standards for high-speed fixed broadband to download speeds of 100 megabits per second (Mbps) and upload speeds of 20 Mbps. In light of these changes, the Texas Broadband Development Office (BDO) seeks public comment on existing standards for classifying the state’s underserved locations on the Texas Broadband Development Map.

The Meridian Lions Club recently donated a check to the Meridian Volunteer Fire Department in honor of Earl Royal's 46 years with the Lions Club on his retirement. Presenting the check were Lions President Myron Lee and Secretary Patti Wagner, and honoree Earl Royal.
