Joe Bryan, a former Texas high school principal, spent more than three decades behind bars for the 1985 murder of his wife, Mickey Bryan.

Out on parole, Bryan recently celebrated his 81st birthday, and he hopes to be exonerated for his wife’s death.

“I'm not a killer. I didn't kill Mickey. I loved Mickey, she was my other self,” Bryan said in his first broadcast TV interview with “20/20” co-anchor Amy Robach. “I hope to be found actually innocent so it's really truly over with. Then for the first time in 34 years I can have a sigh of relief, and I can go visit Mickey's grave and tell her, ‘We know who did it.’”
