CHS Class of 1972 hosts 50th Reunion

Thirty-three classmates from the CHS graduating class of 1972 met for a fun-filled weekend on April 22-23. Special guest was Coach Richard Liardon. Thanks to generous classmates, the class was able to donate $1,500 to CISD for supplemental meals and school supplies.

The positive effects of gardening on mental health

Getting outdoors and gardening can do more than just provide some physical activity and produce food for the table; it can be beneficial to the mind as well. Although there are many functional benefits of gardening and the inherent ways in which plants improve the quality of life, Texas A&M AgriLife experts say a particularly important aspect is how plants enhance mental health and a person’s overall outlook.

Howard receives first place plaque in essay contest

Clifton High School sophomore Carly Howard received a first place plaque in the essay contest sponsored by Texas Soil and Water Conservation District Area 5 in Dublin on May 3. A total of 51 counties are included District Area 5, and Earl Royal, Chairman of the Bosque County Soil and Water Conservation District said Howard was a great representative of the county and the district was proud to sponsor her.

Mike Domel, along with Chris Sanders and First Security State Bank, sponsored an appreciation dinner for Bosque County fire fighters and their spouses Friday evening where Domel presented the Bosque County Fire Association with a check for over $69,000 with more pledged.

Meridian Public Library celebrates 20+years

On Saturday evening people filled the Meridian Civic Center to celebrate Meridian Public Library’s 22nd anniversary. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic the library couldn’t celebrate the Jewels and Jeans event over the last two years.
