No burn ban for Bosque

Bosque County commissioners met in regular session Monday morning where they approved to pay claims, salaries and wages against county and precinct funds. Bosque County EMC and Fire Marshal Kirk Turner updated commissioners on the status of COVID-19 in the county, saying cases have continued to decline.

In a season plagued by drought and high fertilizer prices, Texas A&M AgriLife scientists appreciate what guar provides in a crop rotation. “Guar is a droughttolerant, low-input crop that doesn’t require expensive fertilizers,” said Waltram Ravelombola, Ph.D., organic and specialty crop breeder at Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center -Vernon and Department of Soil and Crop Sciences.

On Fri. February 25th Superintendent Kim Edwards opened the Meridian High School gym to hundreds of families, students, staff members and the community to pay their final respects to Eliza Christine Catchings, who passed away on Feb. 17, 2022.

Despite the cold weather blowing in, they had about 20 people in attendance all seemingly laughing and having a great time. Everyone enjoyed Subway provided by the City of Meridian as well as home cooked treats brought in by those who attended.
