On Friday, May 21 Meridian High School Seniors attended a picnic luncheon in their honor at the First United Methodist Family Life Center in Meridian. Courtesy of the Methodist Women’s group, students enjoyed barbeque sandwiches with all the trimmings, punch and dessert.

In a special session of the Meridian City Council Monday evening, members met with EDC Board President Ron Rieke and members of the Meridian Parks and Rec. board to amend the EDC budget so work on the Chisholm Trail Plaza, which will be built at the site of the old jail, could continue.

C.R. and Gale Sinderud hosted a reunion for veterans who served in the Army 411th Military Police Unit between 1972 and 1976 last week.

Clifton ISD put on a service awards and retirement ceremony for its staff members at the Performing Arts Center Monday. The awards ceremony was not held last year because of COVID-19, but retirees and service awards from the 2019-2020 school year were recognized during this year’s ceremony.

The VFW Post 8553 will be putting out U.S. Flags around Clifton in recognition of Memorial Day.
