Countdown to FallFest

Labor Day weekend has come and gone, but you know what’s right around the corner? Clifton’s 22nd Annual FallFest! Each Wednesday going forward, a team of volunteers meets to plan the outdoor community festival slated for Saturday, October 21. So far, 50 vendors have applied for spots to set up in historic downtown Clifton for the festival, according to the Clifton Chamber of Commerce.

Celebrating Cub Spirit

A joyous Clifton High School Spirit Week of dressing up differently each day, from Rhyme without Reason, Favorite Holiday, to Country versus Country Club, Color Day and Extreme Green culminated in a completely packed Cub Stadium on Friday night to see the first Cub home game with Homecoming festivities. The stands and standing room in front of the concession stand made for a sea of green, with green T-shirts, green hats, beads, massive mums, and other accessories.

Last day to register to vote Oct. 10

The best way to protect your freedom to vote is to be a voter and vote. Tuesday, October 10, is the last day to register to vote in time to officially submit your decisions in the Texas Constitutional amendment election in November 2023.

Golf tournament set Sept. 9

The 25th Annual Lucky Clover Golf Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, September 9. The registration deadline is Thursday, September 7.

Meridian city council approves hosting first responder dinner

The Meridian City Council approved accepting the responsibility of hosting the 5th Annual First Responders’ Dinner from the Meridian Parks & Recreation this year. This action was considered and taken during the council’s special meeting on Monday, August 21 at the Senior Center.
