Beverly Jordan McLemore, of Clifton, died on May 22, 2021, following a brief illness.  She was 76.  Burial was June 2nd at Clifton Memorial Park and attended by family and friends left to cherish her memory.

Born Beverly Ann Fraizer in Colorado on January 1, 1945, she was the only child of Jesse Fraizer and Kathryn Williams Fraizer.  She grew up in Aurora, Colorado, where she graduated from Aurora Central High School in 1963.  She met William T. “Bill” Jordan and the couple were married August 31, 1968, at All Saints Episcopal Church in Dorchester, Massachusetts.  Bill Jordan was a journalist and newspaper editor in his native Massachusetts where the couple lived before moving to Texas in 1973 after they purchased The Clifton Record.  Bill served as editor and publisher and Beverly worked in the newspaper alongside her husband, filling in where needed and performing many duties, particularly as a proficient proofreader of newspaper copy.  The couple sold The Clifton Record in 1979, and both worked in similar duties for the Meridian Tribune for several years.  Bill and Beverly made Clifton their home as he continued working in some capacity for The Clifton Record for 22 years.  Beverly was a devoted caregiver to her husband during his extended illness until his death on April 15, 1995.  The couple was married for 26 years.

Beverly was also a loving daughter to her parents, who relocated to Clifton in their later years to be closer.  Following the death of her first husband, Beverly enjoyed her involvement with the Heart of Texas Line Dancers where she made many friends.  She also enjoyed friends made through the Clifton Antique Mall where she operated a booth from 1998 until a few months ago.

Beverly was introduced to William Lee McLemore, of Waco, and the two married in May 2000 and made their home in Clifton.  William and Beverly McLemore enjoyed almost 15 years of marriage until his death on April 3, 2015.  Beverly served faithfully once again as a devoted companion and caregiver to her husband.

Beverly McLemore was known for her quiet countenance and gentle spirit and faith.  She was a kind and loving friend who always offered softly spoken words of encouragement and a sweet smile.  She was loved by family and friends wherever life took her and whatever challenges she faced along the journey.  She will be missed by her many friends in Clifton and beyond.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Kathryn Fraizer, husbands William T. “Bill” Jordan in 1995 and William L. McLemore in 2015.  Beverly leaves to cherish her memory a stepson, Michael McLemore, two step-grandchildren, a brother-in-law and his wife, numerous cousins and loving friends.
