Clinton Merle Bakke

Clinton Merle Bakke, of Clifton, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 20, 2021. Clinton was born Jan 4, 1941 in Bosque County to Orville Curtis Bakke and Pearl Mae Lahlum.  He graduated from Clifton High School in 1961.

Clinton was in the Army National Guard and served his country well.  Clinton always had a job, and found he could fix, “just about anything.”  He was a repairman for sewing machines when he met Sylvia, and they were married Aug 31, 1967.  Clinton and Sylvia raised two children together.

Later Clinton started Clinton Bakke Appliance Repair in Buchanan and made many friends and enjoyed time on the lake fishing and boating.

Clinton and Sylvia moved to the family ranch close to Clifton upon the death of his father and have been there since, raising a few donkeys and some other things.

Clinton is remembered as someone who could and would fix almost anything for friends and neighbors.

Clinton is survived by Sylvia Bakke, Elaine Martin, Donald, Danny and Benny Smith.

A memorial graveside service will be held at the Norse Cemetery when arrangements can be made.  Friends and family will be notified when this happens.
