Jody Brandon Hillin was born October 9, 1967, in Clifton. He passed away peacefully on October 19, 2021, in Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Monica (McManmie) Hillin of Whitney; his three sons, Brandon Hillin and Megan of Austin, Cameron Hillin and Anna of Academy, and Dustin Hillin of Academy; stepsons, Justin McManmie and Lyndsy of California, and Ryan Atkinson and Hannah of Killeen; one grandson, Oliver Cade McPeek Hillin; step grandkids, Victoria and Connor; three brothers, Jeff McPeek and Renee of Clifton; John McPeek and Susie of Meridian, and Jeremy McPeek and Nikki of Iola; his dad, Jerry McPeek, and wife Dede of Rockdale; nephews Cody, Brazos, Dylan, Colton and Townes; and niece Kiera. Jody also had many close friends who love him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Kay (Whitfield) Hillin; his maternal grandparents, Bill and Thelma Whitfield of Iredell; paternal grandparents Noble Jefferson McPeek and Nellie Ruth (Dunlap) McPeek of Iredell; and uncle Ronnie Locker of Iredell.

Jody was a man with a big heart. He always did what he could to help someone else out without seeking recognition. He loved working on cars doing paint and body, but most of all he loved his friends and family and cooking out on the BBQ pit, which he mastered very well. You may not have always been able to tell it, because they were brothers and fought like brothers, but to Jeff and John, Jody was and always will be their world, and their love for each other was beyond measure. Jody left a huge void, and he will be greatly missed.

A celebration of Jody’s life will be held at a later date, as well as a private family graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you make a donation to the charity of your choice in honor of Jody’s giving spirit.
