Linda Faylene Patrick, 69, of Cranfills Gap, passed away on April 20, 2022. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Clifton. Pastor Jerry Smith conducted the service. Burial followed at Boggy Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Clifton Funeral Home.

Faylene was born in Meridian on August 7, 1952, to Lloyd and Anna Cox Sorley. She grew up in Cranfills Gap and attended schools from elementary school through high school. She graduated in 1970. She married George Vernon Patrick on October 31, 1970. The couple made their home in Cranfills Gap all of their lives. Two sons were born to the marriage, Marvin in 1979 and Dale in 1984.

Faylene worked the first few years of her marriage as a seamstress for Gibbs Manufacturing Company in the Gap making clothes. She worked for a number of years for the United States Postal system. She then worked several years in food services for the Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home and Clifton schools.

She loved to collect glassware of all kinds. She enjoyed socializing with people and loved to cheer people up. She loved to play basketball in high school and never lost her love for watching basketball games. She loved to play bingo and enjoyed living in the rural setting.

Besides cooking for many years for others, her family enjoyed her chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clifton and enjoyed the early services and her Sunday School class for many years.

She is survived by her husband of almost 52 years, George Vernon Patrick and her two sons, Marvin and Dale, all of Cranfills Gap, and one brother, Arlen Sorley and wife of Clifton.
