Rudolf (Rudy) Gottlieb Kittlitz, Jr. died on April 20, 2022, in Clifton at 87 years of age.

Rudy was born “Deep in the Heart of TEXAS” in Waco to Lena Hulda Landgraf Kittlitz and Rudolf Gottlieb Kittlitz, Sr.

He is survived by four loving young’uns (Lenell Kittlitz, Theresa Kittlitz, Liesel Kittlitz, and Rolf

Kittlitz), three grandchildren (Lee Kittlitz, Harper Baldwin, and Reese Baldwin), and two siblings (Tom Kittlitz and Linda G. Kittlitz); his other sister, Nancy Kittlitz Stone, and parents preceded him in death.

Rudy obtained a BS in chemical engineering at Ole Miss and later an MS in engineering at University of Alabama-Huntsville. He spent the entirety of his technical career with DuPont, where he specialized in applications of statistics for solving manufacturing plant and customer problems. He was also a fellow at the American Society for Quality (ASQ). While he traveled extensively with his work, both in the U.S. and around the world, he always considered Texas his home.

Per Rudy’s request, his earthly body was donated to Baylor Medical School. The family will host a memorial service at Day Spring Baptist Church in Waco, Texas on July 6, 2022.
