Scott was born on May 30,1976 in Waco.  He attended school in Valley Mills and graduated from Valley Mills High School in 1994.  Scott earned his Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Business (summa cum laude) from Sam Houston State University in May 1998, then in May 2002 he earned his Master’s of Business Administration from Texas Wesleyan University.

Scott began his adult life in Cleburne working for the Lone Star Land Bank and then continued in the banking industry for some time.  While in Cleburne he built many friendships that he cherished until his passing. After getting out of banking Scott went into the fuel industry in Waco where he worked hard for many years.

Scott cherished his family and would have gone to the ends of the earth for them.  On April 29, 2013, the light of his life was born.  His precious daughter, Blakely Paige Sonntag, stole his heart the first time he laid eyes on her.  The time they spent together and the memories they made were priceless.  He loved and adored her, and she felt the same about him.  His sole purpose in life was to provide a happy life for her, to help her make memories for a lifetime and to show her how a parent was supposed to love a child.

Scott is survived by his young daughter, Blakely Paige Sonntag, of Gatesville; parents Reagan and Peggy Greenhaw of Waco; sister Shelley Sonntag also of Waco; aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends who loved him dearly.   He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Herbert and Flora Schmidt and paternal grandparents Louie and Ellen Sonntag.

Pallbearers are Ryan Bolton, Ky Kelm, Wes Parnell, Craig Chayne, David Dumas, Jason Petty, Dwayne Ellis and Weldon Bartels.  Honorary Pallbearers are Logan Edwards and Mason Edwards.
