William Tilden (Bill) Dansby was born on November 12, 1955, in Ft. Worth at Harris Hospital and was the oldest son of Elmo Dansby and Sarah Swenson Dansby. He passed away from this earthly life on November 14, 2021, from a heart attack.  He was named after both of his grandfathers, William Harrison Dansby and Tilden Oscar Swenson.

Bill was christened in the old Presbyterian Church as an infant and was baptized in the First Baptist Church in his youth.  He was brought up by two loving parents on the old family farm known as the Swenson Place (est. 1882) and had a magical childhood fishing on the Bosque River with his great-uncle, Ralph Joseph Peterson.  He attended Clifton Elementary School and Clifton High School.

Bill started working for the City of Clifton while he was still a teenager, and in May of 1975, he married Connie Ybarra.  Three children were born into this union:  Michael Lee, Jennifer Marie, and Annie Maria.  Bill held several other positions here in Bosque County while raising his children.  He held positions at Gearwrench, the Chemical Lime Plant, and retired after working for Bosque County Precinct 3 repairing county roads.

He enjoyed living in Clifton throughout his life and loved working in his yard and polishing his motor vehicles to perfection.  Bill left behind 17 grandchildren, many brothers and sisters-in-law, two brothers (Mark and Wade Dansby), 10 first cousins on the Swenson side of his family, and many friends.

He was known as “W.T.” by all of his friends.  Bill will be most remembered for his work ethic and providing for his family.  He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed.  A simple, graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at the Clifton Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are through the Clifton Funeral Home.
