Texas A&M Forest Service is offering new volunteer recruitment resources (VRR) grants designed to help Texas volunteer fire departments strengthen their workforce and enhance community fire protection.

The Clifton City Council accepted the resignation of Clifton’s mayor during its regular meeting on Tuesday, February 14. Mayor Richard Spitzer tendered a letter of resignation the previous week, ending his term weeks before the May 6 election for the City of Clifton.

Many Clifton-area residents across different levels of age, physical ability, and income receive and send their mail through the United States Postal Service. However, local customers who have difficulty walking and/or prefer the ease of drive-thru service must continue to wait for a new blue mailbox outside the post office in Clifton.

During the regular meeting of Clifton City Council on Tuesday, February 14, Clifton’s chief of police opened discussion on a proposed ordinance limiting the residency of sex offenders inside the city limits.
