The annual membership meeting of the Bosque Civic Music Association was held on Thursday evening, January 25, in the atrium of the Bosque Arts Center. A crowd of all ages was in attendance and enjoyed a wonderful program of entertainment featuring several young musicians.

Scouts BSA Troop 376G recaps 2023

BSA Troop 376G, a troop for girls ages 11-17, had a great first year! The troop was chartered on April 29, 2023, and hit the ground running. The mission of BSA is: “To prepare young people to make ethical moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.” There are several methods by which Scouts BSA works to accomplish this mission.

Local blood drives coming in February

January is National Blood Donor Month, but Carter BloodCare’s mobile unit will be stopping in Bosque County to collect blood donations in February. The mobile unit will be located at Clifton Independent School District on Wednesday, February 5, from 8:30 a.m.

Clifton school board cancels classes for solar eclipse in April

The Clifton Independent School District’s Board of Education approved not holding classes on the day of the total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024. Recommended by the CISD administration, the decision made at the regular board meeting on Monday, January 22, was based on traffic safety concerns in the afternoon hours.

The Clifton Independent School District’s Board of Education on Monday, January 22, held a public hearing to review the district’s recently released Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR). The TAPR report covers data on standardized testing performance, attendance rate, dropout rate, graduation rate, college / career / military readiness, as well as program information and PEMS financial standards.

Countdown to eclipse

Plans are afoot to welcome and accommodate people from out of town as well as to ensure the safety of people who live and work in Clifton during the days around the total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024. Representatives from the City of Clifton, the Clifton Chamber of Commerce, Clifton Lions Club, Bosque County Rotary Club, Clifton Ministerial Alliance, Bosque Arts Center, the Bosque Museum, and BSA Scouts met on Thursday, January 25, to discuss preparations the weekend prior to and the day of the eclipse.
